The inaugural Your Prep Sports team features Division I recruits, all-state performers, state title game participants and school record holders.
Offensive TeamDevontae LaneWide Receiver: Oliver Martin, 6-1, 195, Sr., West High (Offensive Captain) – Concluded the top career in state history for a Class 4A pass catcher by leading 4A with 85 receptions for 1,272 yards and 14 touchdowns.
Wide Receiver: Zach Jones, 5-9, 160, Sr., City High – Caught a team-high 39 passes for 556 yards and four touchdowns.
Quarterback: Nate Wieland, 6-2, 215, Sr., City High – Northern Illinois commit passed for 1,671 yards and nine touchdowns and ran for 741 yards and 11 scores.
Luke Lenoch
Running Back: Devontae Lane, 6-2, 200, Sr., West High – Rushed for 793 yards and 11 touchdowns in eight games after moving to tailback. Also caught 29 passes for 234 yards and six touchdowns.
Running Back: Luke Lenoch, 5-9, 185, Sr., West Branch – Became the 14th player in state history to break the 6,000-yard barrier for a career, rushing for 1,838 yards and 30 touchdowns.
Tight End: Jacob Coons, 6-4, 215, Sr., Solon – Iowa recruit had a team-high 29 catches for 479 yards and five touchdowns.
Jacob Barnhart
Offensive Line: Josh Van Roekel, 6-5, 230, Sr., West High – Second team all-state picked helped the Trojans reach the 4A title game for the first time since 1999.
Offensive Line: Reagan Ries, 6-0, 270, Sr., Regina – Two-way standout was a third team all-state pick for 1A runner-up Regals.
Offensive Line: Jacob Barnhart, 6-6, 285, Jr., West Branch – Earned all-state honors for the second straight season after anchoring West Branch offensive line.
Tyreke Williams
Offensive Line: Carter Hertel, 6-0, 260, Sr., Clear Creek Amana – Most consistent performer on an offensive line that helped the Clippers average 240 rushing yards per game.
Offensive Line: Alex Kleinow, 6-5, 290, Sr., West High – Iowa State recruit was a dominant force on an offensive line that helped the Trojans average 32 points per game.
Kicker: Tyreke Williams, 6-0, 220, Sr., Clear Creek Amana – Connected on 6-of-7 field goals including a 47-yarder.

Defensive Team Tyler LinderbaumDefensive Line: Jared Brinkman, 6-2, 270, Sr., Regina (Defensive Captain) – A first team Class 1A all-state selection, Brinkman made a team-high 59 tackles and collected 6.5 sacks while moving between end and tackle.
Defensive Line: Dillon Shephard, 6-2, 190, Sr., West High – Led West High with 17.5 tackles for loss and eight sacks while ranking fourth on the team with 48 tackles from his defensive end spot.
Defensive Line: Tyler Linderbaum, 6-2, 240, Jr., Solon – A force on both sides of the ball, Linderbaum was a first team all-state pick as an offensive lineman and ranked second on the team with 42.5 tackles from his defensive tackle spot while leading Solon with seven tackles for loss.
Brock Hunger
Defensive Line: Cole White, 5-11, 215, Jr., Clear Creek Amana – Had a state-best 15 sacks among 20 tackles for loss.
Linebacker: Brock Hunger, 6-1, 195, Sr., City High – Senior captain led City High with 64 tackles and four sacks from his middle linebacker spot.
Linebacker: Max Brown, 5-9, 185, Sr., West High – An undersized middle linebacker, Brown had big-time production leading West High with 78.5 tackles including 12 for loss.
Naeem Smith
Linebacker: Dillon Doyle, 6-2, 190, West High – Finished third on the team in tackles for the 4A runner-up Trojans making 54 stops including 8.5 for loss.
Linebacker: Trevor Nelson, 6-0, 180, Sr., Solon – Leader a Solon defense that held opponents to 12.3 points and 242 yards per game made a team-high 43 tackles, had three sacks and recovered two fumbles.
Defensive Back: Naeem Smith, 5-10, 175, Sr., City High – A third team Class 4A all-state selection led the Little Hawks with four interceptions and ranked second on the team with 51.5 tackles.
Jack Jensen
Defensive Back: Cole Mabry, 6-1, 170, Soph., West High – Ranked second on the team with 63.5 tackles in his first varsity season.
Defensive Back: Gabe Nkumu, 6-1, 200, Sr., City High – Had 44 tackles and five tackles for loss and ranked second on the team with three interceptions.
Defensive Back: Jack Jensen, 5-9, 141, Sr., Regina – Had six of his team-high seven interceptions in four postseason games.
Punter: Sam Stein, 5-11, 155, Sr., Regina – Ranked third in the state averaging 41.9 yards on 25 punts.
