City High, West High Players Collect MVC Volleyball Awards

West High secured a third consecutive trip to the state tournament on Monday night with a five-set win over ninth-ranked Bettendorf.
On Tuesday, the Women of Troy continued to its exciting week as six West High players were honored by the Mississippi Valley Conference when the league announced its all-division awards.
Seniors Emma Norris and Madi Ford led the all-division selections for West High, both earning first team honors in the Mississippi Division.
City High senior Alexa Aldrich-Ingram was a unanimous first team selection in the Valley Division to headline a list of five Little Hawks to receive conference honors.
Norris was unanimous first team pick after leading West High with 246 kills and finishing third on the team with 227 digs.
A senior libero, Ford was named to the first team after collecting a team-high 391 digs for West High.
Junior Colby Greene was a second team selection for West High after posting 208 kills and 57 blocks, both second on the team.
West High senior Emma NorrisSenior setter Maddie Fay was also a second team pick after handing out a team-high 682 assists.
Seniors Emily Halverson and Ali Tauchen both earned honorable mention honors for West High.
Halverson had 186 kills and a team-best 70 blocks while Tauchen has 197 kills.
Aldrich-Ingram led City High with 288 kills to surpass the 1,000-kill mark for her career and also added 286 assists on her way to first team honors.
Seniors Shannon Stamp and Shannon James were both named to the Valley Division second team for the Little Hawks.
Stamp had 131 kills and led City High with 64 blocks while James added 160 kills.
Senior libero Grace Brown and sophomore Ellie Evans both earned honorable mention status.
Evans had 119 kills while Brown led City High with 397 digs.
