Skopec, Nock Help West High to 21st Consecutive State Meet Appearance
Bailey NockWest High is headed back to the state cross country meet.
Gabby Skopec and Bailey Nock finished first and second to lead West High to a team title at the Class 4A state qualifying meet at Crow Creek Park in Bettendorf on Thursday.
Skopec won the individual title in 18:46, 14 seconds in front of Nock to help the Women of Troy return to the state meet for the 21st consecutive season.
Tenth-ranked Pleasant Valley was second with 54 points while North Scott finished third with 67 points.
Jessie Skopec placed 14th in 20:09 for West High while Olivia Moore was 15th in 20:19 and Claire Ronnebaum was 17th in 20:41.
