Nathan GreenNathan Meyer and Nate Green are headed back to the state cross country meet.

The Regina duo qualified for the state meet as individuals with top 15 finishes at the Class 2A state qualifying meet at Monticello High School on Thursday.

Meyer placed 10th in a time of 17:34 and Green was 11th in 17:37 to return to the state meet.

Waukon edged Monticello by one point for the team title while Tipton was third with 102 points.

Regina finished fifth with 145 points.

In the girls race the the postseason debut for Regina freshman Kennedy Scott was a successful one as Scott finished 15th to earn a trip to the state meet.

Top-ranked Monticello won the girls team title with 46 points while Springville-Central City was second with 78 points and Cascade was third with 104.

Regina finished fifth with 158 points.

Scott was the top Regina finisher on Thursday with her 15th place finish in a time of 20:37.

Molly Vittetoe finished 23th in 21:21 and Molly Blondin was 37th in 22:10.
