Player to Watch: Davenport North senior receiver Robert Bladel (5-9, 160) has caught a team-high 28 passes for 396 yards and three touchdowns.
Key Stat: The interception thrown by Nate Wieland on Friday against Bettendorf was just the second of the season for the senior in 138 pass attempts.
About Davenport North: The Wildcats lost their fourth straight game last week, falling to Clinton 55-13 at home. The lone with for North this season came in week four, 21-13 over Davenport West. The Wildcats have allowed more than 30 points in every game except the win over West and are allowing 39 points per game on the season.
About City High: The Little Hawks had a four-game winning streak halted with a 44-7 loss to District 7 champion Bettendorf on Friday. City High allowed season-highs in rushing yards (382), total yards (530) and points (44) in the loss to Bettendorf, its fourth loss to the Bulldogs in the past three seasons. City High has secured a playoff spot with a second place finish in District 7 and will try to end the regular season with a win on Friday.
Senior quarterback Nate Wieland has passed for 1,128 yards and four touchdowns this season and rushed for 567 yards and nine scores. Senior tailback Bryce Frantz has added 677 yards rushing and 13 touchdowns. City High will try to rev up its running game against North after Wieland and Frantz were limited to 24 yards on 18 carries against Bettendorf.
Ottumwa (0-8) at West High (6-2)
Where: Trojan Field, 7:15 p.m.

Player to Watch: Ottumwa junior running back Nik Batterson has rushed for a team-high 481 yards and two touchdowns this season.
Key Stat: After allowing 276 rushing yards to Cedar Rapids Prairie in week five West High has is allowing less than 80 yards per game on the ground during its three-game win streak.
About Ottumwa: The Bulldogs have lost nine straight games dating back to last season after a 43-0 loss to Cedar Rapids Kennedy last week. Ottumwa ranks last in scoring in Class 4A, averaging 6.25 points per game and hasn’t scored more than 10 points in a game this season.
Junior Addison Coram and sophomore Eli McDanel have split time at quarterback for Ottumwa this season combing to pass for 434 yards with one touchdown and 10 interceptions.
About West High: The Trojans can clinch the runner-up spot in District 8 with a win and a Cedar Rapids Prairie win over Cedar Rapids Kennedy. If West High wins by 17 points Kennedy would need to defeat Prairie by 12 points or more to surpass the Trojans for the second spot.
West High has won three straight since a week five loss to Cedar Rapids Prairie and is averaging better than 44 points per game during that stretch. The Trojans are allowing 159 total yards and eight points per game during their three-game winning streak and is coming off a performance in which it allowed just 104 yards of total offense in a 50-7 win over Linn-Mar.
Louisa-Muscatine (2-6) at Class 1A No. 1 Regina (7-1)
Where: Regal Field, 7 p.m.

Player to Watch: Louisa-Muscatine senior quarterback Jake Hillard (6-0, 160) has passed for 355 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for 261 yards and two more touchdowns.
Key Stat: Regina has 26 rushing touchdowns in six district wins.
About Louisa-Muscatine: The Falcons lost their fourth straight game last week, falling 28-0 to Highland and have been shut out three times during their current four-game losing skid.
Following an 0-2 start to the season Louisa-Muscatine won back-to-back games over Van Buren and Columbus to start district play but has been outscored 160-12 in its last four games.
About Regina: The Regals ran their winning streak to seven with a 42-7 win over Columbus last week. Regina is averaging 268 rushing yards per game this season while averaging 7.3 yards per carry. Four different Regals have rushed for more than 400 yards led by junior Jake Phillips with 504 yards and a team-high nine touchdowns.
Junior quarterback Michael Conlon has rushed for 419 yards and seven scores and has passed for 663 yards and nine more scores. Regina ranks fifth in Class 1A averaging 41.6 points per game and has scored at least 34 points in every game during its seven-game winning streak.
Central DeWitt (2-6) at Clear Creek Amana (6-2)
Where: Clipper Field, 7:15 p.m.
Last Season: Did not play.
Player to Watch: Central DeWitt junior running back Nick Smith (5-11, 200) has rushed for 1,008 yards and 11 touchdowns this season.
Key Stat: Don’t expect a lot of passes in this game between two teams that have combined for 137 pass attempts on the season. Central DeWitt has thrown 66 passes on the year while Clear Creek Amana has 71 pass attempts.
About Central DeWitt: The Sabers snapped a six-game losing skid in emphatic fashion last week, rushing for 432 yards on a whopping 72 carries in a 42-22 win over Center Point-Urbana last week. Smith led the way, rushing for a career-high 262 yards and four touchdowns as Central DeWitt won for the first time since a season-opening 56-22 win over Northeast.
The Sabers have had success running the ball all season, averaging 245 yards per game on the ground. Stopping the run has been the key for Central DeWitt. In two wins the Sabers allowed an average of 85 rushing yards and allowed 253 yards on the ground in six losses.
About Clear Creek Amana: Following a 6-0 start to the season the Clippers have dropped back-to-back games following a 33-20 loss at Davenport Assumption last Thursday. The Clippers allowed season highs in points (33) and rushing yards (216) in the loss to the Knights last week.
Despite the back-to-back district losses, the Clippers still have an outside shot at the postseason but need a win over Central DeWitt on Friday. The Clippers will be without starting quarterback Ashton Carpenter who was lost for the season last week and junior Dylan Sheely will make his first career start.
Clayton Ridge (6-2) at West Branch (6-2)
Where: The Little Rose Bowl, 7:30 p.m.
Last Season: Did not play.
Player to Watch: Clayton Ridge senior quarterback Jace Moore has passed for 1,637 yards and 23 touchdowns this season and run for 531 more yards and five touchdowns.
Key Stat: Clayton Ridge senior receiver Robby Sweers is averaging 26.3 yards per reception on 31 catches this season.
About Clayton Ridge: The Eagles rattled off five consecutive wins following a season-opening loss to Class 2A Dyersville Beckman before dropping a 52-45 shootout to district champion Bellevue in week 7. Clayton Ridge bounced back last week with a 42-6 win over Durant behind five touchdown passes from Moore.
Clayton Ridge ranks sixth in Class 1A in total offense, averaging 410 yards per game and is averaging 8.1 yards per play which is fourth best in 1A. The Eagles have been solid on defense holding opponents to 299 yards per game despite allowing 674 yards in the loss to Bellevue.
About West Branch: A ninth consecutive playoff appearance will come down to the final week of the season for West Branch which needs a win to secure the runner-up spot in Class 1A District 3. The Bears have won three straight games since a 26-13 loss to Bellevue with senior running back Luke Lenoch averaging 193 yards rushing during that stretch.
Senior Cooper Kabela will be making his fourth career start at quarterback after passing for 195 yards and three touchdowns in his first three starts.
Class 3A No. 7 Solon (7-1) at Fairfield (5-3)
Where: Fairfield, 7:30 p.m.
Last Season: Did not play.
Player to Watch: Senior quarterback Cameron Baumann leads Fairfield with 936 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns and has also passed for 782 yards and 11 scores.
Key Stat: Solon has forced 20 turnovers and allowed three touchdowns in six district games.
About Fairfield: The Trojans rebounded from back-to-back losses to Washington and Oskaloosa with consecutive wins over Fort Madison and Mount Pleasant the last two weeks. Fairfield is led by one of Class 3A’s top all-around players in Baumann. The senior quarterback ranks in the top 15 in 3A in total offense with 1,787 yards and his 25 total touchdowns are the fourth most in 3A.
Baumann has accounted for 25 of Fairfield’s 33 touchdowns this season and 67 percent of the Trojans’ total offense. He also has made 29 tackles, leads the team with four interceptions and is averaging 44 yards per punt.
About Solon: The Spartans secured the District 5 title with its sixth straight win last week and will try to close out a perfect district slate in the regular season finale. Solon has been dominant defensively throughout district play holding opponents to 4.2 points and 155 total yards in six district wins. The Spartans have been especially dominant of late, holding each of their last four opponents under 170 yards of total offense.
Blayze Griffis has completed 64 percent of his passes while throwing for 1,195 yards and 15 touchdowns for Solon while Kendrick Harris has rushed for 718 yards and seven touchdowns.
