During its current four-game winning streak Solon has gotten contributions from its offense, defense and special teams.
The Spartans continued to spread the wealth in another lopsided district win on Friday.
Class 3A Seventh-ranked Solon (5-1) returned three fumbles for touchdowns and rushed for 178 yards on its way to a 56-7 road win over Fort Madison (0-6).
“I thought we did a lot of things really well tonight in all three phases of the game,” Solon coach Kevin Miller said. “Probably what I liked the most about what I saw tonight was that it really was a total team effort.”

Solon improved to 5-1 on the season and continued its dominance over District 5 foes.
The Spartans have outscored opponents 168-25 in four consecutive wins in district play and are alone atop the District 5 standings with three games to play.
“I think we are continuing to improve,” Miller said. “We still want to work on being more consistent in all three phases of the game, offense, defense and special teams but I think we are continuing to get better in every game.”
Solon didn’t waste any time getting going Friday.
On its first play from scrimmage Blayze Griffis connected with Jacob Coons for a 63-yard touchdown pass to put Solon on top 7-0.
Trevor Nelson added a 24-yard touchdown run and Coons returned a fumble 17 yards for a score as Solon took a 20-0 lead after the first quarter.
The Spartans were just getting warmed up.
Coons caught an 11-yard touchdown pass from Griffis, Spencer Wegmann returned a fumble 10 yards for a score and Nelson added his second touchdown run of the game, an 8-yarder, to make it 43-0.
A 23-yard scoring jaunt by Graeson Dall put Solon up 49-0 at the half.
Griffis finished 6-of-8 passing for 142 yards and two touchdowns with Coons catching four passes for 82 yards.
Nelson ran for 82 yards and two touchdowns as Solon rolled up 328 yards of total offense.
“Jake Coons had a couple of touchdown receptions, Trevor Nelson had two touchdown runs and we had several defensive touchdowns as well so it really was a team effort,” Miller said. “We really spread the wealth.”
Fort Madison got on the board in the third quarter on a 1-yard touchdown run by Clayton Poe in the third quarter.
Solon capped the scoring in the fourth quarter when Storm Scott returned a fumble 40 yards for a touchdown.
Coal Flansburg had four tackles, including a tackle for loss, Tyler Linderbaum had four tackles and Nelson had 4.5 tackles as Solon held Fort Madison to 127 total yards.
