West High Wins Anamosa Invite
West High senior Gabby SkopecYour Prep Sports
West High placed four runners in the top 10 and cruised to the team title at the 41st Anamosa Invitational on Saturday at Central Park.
Class 4A second-ranked West High finished with 29 points to win the team title, 28 points in front of runner up 2A top-ranked Monticello.
Fort Madison was third with 107 points followed by Springville-Central City with 120 points and Solon with 137.
West High senior Gabby Skopec won the individual title in a time of 19:21 while teammate Bailey Nock was second on 19:41.
Claire Ronnebaum added a fifth place finish in 20:20 for West High and Jessie Skopec was seventh in 21:04.
Sophie Nicol led Solon placing 17th in 21:49 while Ella Duster was 18th in 21:54 for the Spartans.
